people identifying crazy ex-girlfriend as a show about mental health is reductive imo and makes it easier to ignore the show’s harder-to-swallow messages about romance. rebecca may be mentally ill but her mental illness has been exacerbated by the media messages she’s gotten about love and sex and their relationship to womanhood
i know we’ve all turned over the lyrics to “nobody” a million times but im still pierced right through the heart over “give me one good honest kiss” changing in the next verse to “give me one good movie kiss" exposing that the narrator thinks she craves a mutual human connection but what she really craves is a fantasy of care

Though it is hard to comprehend at first glance why the artist, better known as a “water drop painter,” spent the better part of his life painting them, one can naturally assume they must mean a lot to him.
it’s really fascinating to see how white people react to a clear incident of heinous white sociopathy (such as this stealing bones incident). to them it’s just another example of bizarre people on tumblr being bizarre, and provides an instance of comedy, but for people of color it’s literally jarring to think about a white girl purchasing the skeleton of a girl of color and parading it around as a trinket. there’s literally a history of colonial regimes and slaveowners of parading around colonized and enslaved subjects, of colonizers and slaveowners keeping a proud body count of the number of indigenous people they’ve killed or anti-colonial rebels they’ve killed or slaves they’ve kidnapped. like….
